The Motherland Documentary Is Out Now

When I started making this album, a documentary was never on my mind. For me, albums start out from some sort of simple idea, and over time, morph into something much grander and more impactful.

Motherland started as an album made to bring South Asian diaspora artists together, to create collaborative and innovative new music, merging cultures and genres.

Over time, it became a statement on the immigrant experience, the importance of family, and the clashing of cultures and classes.

It also released during a time where South Asian people, specifically Indians, are being hated on more than ever, especially in Canada where I live. My city, Brampton, is at the heart of this negative rhetoric.

The Motherland documentary is a short yet sweet look into the cultural identity of Brampton, and what life is like from the ground up. It offers an honest perspective from its resident and its champions, highlighting the beauty of culture and diversity when expressed correctly.

I’m The Best Rapper From Ontario

The 4th video in a 7 part series that begun back in July. This video is a crazy story in itself. I wrote the verse just a few days before, and recorded it that same week. I then quickly memorized it, and planned to shoot the video during my headline concert set.

The problem is the concert has to keep flowing, so I literally had to get the take in one shot. I told the crowd what I was about to do, made sure the energy was right, and then had my DJ Mrii take on another role and shoot this for me.

Turned out so fire. A once in a lifetime moment.

And I remixed Big Dawgs, the biggest English song from an Indian origin rapper we’ve maybe ever had.

I Performed On The Biggest Outdoor Stage In Toronto

Big ups Chivas Regal for a great year of brand ambassadorship. This was my first proper brand deal, and I’ll forever be grateful for that. Beyond the brand deal itself though, they offered me unreal opportunities like flying out to Kelowna for a music festival earlier this year, and performing at Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto last month.

Diwali Festival of Lights took place for the 2nd year in a row, and I had the opportunity to bless the stage with a high energy set.

I performed Around The World, Amazing, and brought my guy Anas Ansari out for I Just Wanna Party. There were thousands of people in the crowd, so this was a huge milestone in my career.

I also met Omi Vaidya from the famous Bollywood movie 3 Idiots. Random but cool.

Brand New Vibe Hit 100,000 Spotify Streams

Not even 5 months after release, Brand New Vibe is my fastest growing song ever. It’s my 4th song to hit 100,000 Spotify streams, with no signs of slowing down.

Mad love to Vikki S & RMS for being on this song with me. They really uplifted it while I anchored the end and curated the whole song. Felt like DJ Khaled on this one, we the best.

Did I Have The Hardest Verse In This Cypher?

Much love to Bowlz N Beatz for featuring me in their 2nd annual rap cypher. Humbly, I think I had the best verse on here. Had a lot of fun writing this one and just spitting bars.

“Follow the leader leader
I've been in the chamber training like Vegeta
Red lights still can't stop my demeanor
Driving down where the grass grows greener”
