New Song System Out Now
My second song of 2024 is out now. System is a conscious trap banger speaking on the woes of modern politics and capitalism. It features my guy Khurram, an American-Pakistani rapper who recently went viral with his song that is an ode to Palestinian journalist Motaz Azaiza.
This collab was originally created in Los Angeles back in 2021, but has since been reworked and made 100x better for it’s release in 2024. We actually shot a music video on an LA movie set as well, but back then the entire beat and tempo of the song was different, so we’re not sure if we’ll ever release it.
The song is controversial in it’s lyrics, directly touching on the dreariness of modern life and how unevenly split it is within society. The cover art uses Joe Biden to really hit the nail on the head that the system is global and we’re all stuck inside of it.
Locked & Loaded Played In Raptors Arena
Near the end of 2023, I had the Spitizens go crazy on an Instagram post from DJ 4 Korners asking what music he should play at Toronto Raptors home games.
Everyone commented the song they thought would hit in an arena, and out of all of them, 4 Korners was rocking with Locked & Loaded the most. A true blessing that he played it and I even had a supporter in the audience who heard it and sent in some additional footage you can see in the Reel.
One day I’ll perform in that arena.
Security Almost Made Me Delete This Video
On my way back to Canada from India, I had an extended layover in Dubai. I tried to make the most of it by leaving the airport and checking out Dubai Mall & the Burj Khalifa, amongst many other sights.
While at the Burj Khalifa, I had a fellow traveler shoot a video of me rapping. Right after we finished, we were approached by security asking if we have a permit as you can’t shoot professional style videos (it was a guy lying on the ground with a smartphone). He made us show him the video, he filmed it, sent it to his supervisor, waited to hear back, and then ultimately told us we could keep this video but couldn’t shoot any more.
You know me, do anything for the shot.
How I Got Into Complex Magazine
Almost a year ago now, I was featured in Complex Canada for becoming a Brampton Ambassador and hosting free open mics in my hometown.
I decided to lay the blueprint for other artists in my recent YouTube videos. This latest one breaks down exactly how I got this esteemed magazine feature.
We Had Everyone Staring With This Video
System is going crazy all around the world! While I was still in India, I shot a bunch of promotional content for this song. One of these clips features me in Colaba Causeway in Mumbai, with all the shoppers and merchants just staring as I walk by rapping and making a scene.
Other News
The Young Stunners show sold out and was then postponed to accommodate the larger audience. It’ll go down this weekend on March 2 in Vaughan!
